About
Jeans to an End
My name is Carlea Badolian I am a student at Missouri State University studying to get my Bachelor of Science, in fashion design and product development. Fashion has always been a massive Part of my life, for as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with creating clothes. Starting with my famous baby wipe dresses I would make for my dolls as a child. I hated how cheap and boring all my dresses were, so using my sisters (clean) baby wipes would drape the wipes around my dolls and they would dry into more fashionable gowns. As I got older my dress making advanced to eventually include patterns and sewing, until finally it led me on the path to becoming a fashion designer.
My latest collection “Jeans to an End” comes from the idea of elevating denim, I love designing evening wear and wanted to find a way to do that while utilizing denim. I also wanted to incorporate elements of sustainability by using repurposed jeans, old prom dresses, and opting for silk over polyester where possible. The collection is definitely not as environmentally friendly as I would like it to be, but as the name suggests it is still a means to an end.
